on the part of I-Cafe Pilipinas we could not make a comment regarding the said ordinance since we believe in the autonomy of the local internet cafe associations that exist on the community level. on the part of Tagum City we have a working relationship with the Tagum Internet Cafe Association. we believe that this ordinance has gone through the process of deliberations and consultations with the different stakeholders of Tagum City and we believe that proper representation has been made. this is the will of the people of Tagum as manifested by your elected representatives in the city council and therefor there is nothing that we could do but to follow what is stated in the ordinance.
I-Cafe Pilipinas has always stated that internet cafe owners should always be at the right side of the law. we only tackle issues that we believe suppress the rights and interest of the internet cafe owners. like in the case of the IP Seal we could not find any enabling law that would make it legal to use it for intellectual property compliant that is why we have stated our opposition to it. but before we could state our position to the issue of the IP Seal we had made a thorough study about the issue and was the product of long hours of discussion and consultation with the other stakeholders.

VERY IMPORTANT!
I received a call just now from NTC and I was told that the public hearing for tomorrow is postponed to a date not yet set by them. I was told that there was no sufficient dissemination of the information about the scheduled public hearing tomorrow so they decided to cancel it. NTC will call me regarding the new schedule of the public hearing
The public hearing is reset for today, April 29, 2010 at the same time and place. Hope many would come. I will be there to see what the rules will be.

internet cafe owners makes the most common mistake of considering first the hardware components of his business but the most important aspect he often forgets if his location is accessible to his target market
-
an entrepreneur is one who sees opportunities in every problem and derives profit from creating the solutions to these problems. in the case of the internet cafe owner on how to solve the problem of low computer rental rates that is prevailing it would be best if he would find ways in which he could convince his customers to pay more for the services that he is offering rather than lowering his prices at the level of his competitors
tama sir… that is why I opted to increase my rental rates and started to turn on my AC again since everyone else in our area has decided to turn off theirs and started charging their custoemrs at P15 /hr. I compared my location, equipments and services to them and found out I have what it takes to raise my computer rental prices. I can say I don’t have the optimal location but I have the most spacius and comfortable space compared to the rest of my competitors. It is just matter of months of observation if my pricing is acceptable in our area.
